Product Introduction

The HT8600P open path methane analyzer is a high-precision environmental gas analyzer, mainly used to measure the methane concentration in the atmosphere.

How it works

  1. Quantum Cascade Laser Absorption Spectroscopy (QCLAS):

    • Laser source: The HT8600P uses a mid-infrared quantum cascade laser (QCL). The QCL is able to emit laser light in the wavelength range where methane has a characteristic absorption peak, so that the concentration of methane can be measured very accurately.

    • Optical path design: The instrument is equipped with two high-reflectivity mirrors. The laser is reflected multiple times in the atmosphere to form an effective optical path, which can usually reach tens of meters. This design can improve detection sensitivity and enhance the detection of weak absorption signals.

  2. Absorption peak measurement:

    • Spectroscopic analysis: The instrument measures the energy absorption of methane at a specific wavelength of mid-infrared laser light. By integrating the absorption peak spectrum curve in real time, the trace concentration of the gas can be inverted.
